Care & cleaning
A few simple habits keep your lenses clear, your coatings working and your glasses protecting you for longer.
Cleaning
- Rinse off dust and grit with clean water first, so you don't grind it into the lens.
- Spray both sides of the lenses with lens cleaner.
- Wipe gently with a clean microfibre cloth.
- Wash the cloth regularly. A dirty cloth just moves grime around.
What to avoid
- Shirt tails, paper towel and rags, which scratch lenses and wear down coatings
- Household cleaners, solvents and glass cleaners
- Leaving glasses on the dashboard, where heat can damage frames and coatings
- Placing glasses lens-down on any surface
Storing
Keep your glasses in a case when you're not wearing them, especially in a kit bag or ute. A retainer cord keeps them handy between tasks.
When to replace
Replace your glasses after any impact, or when lenses are scratched, frames are damaged, side shields are loose or your prescription has changed. Five signs it's time.
